From Then to Now

One of my favorite things to do as a young child was to pass the time by drawing, coloring and designing outfits and houses. In adulthood I channeled my creativity into my career becoming a leader, teambuilder, financial manager with systems integration expertise. I lived and traveled overseas with my family further fueling my creative interests. As life does, one journey becomes another.  Time passed and my girls were all grown up and my husband’s health started to fail.  Before you knew it the whole dynamic shifted. Creativity had to take a pause while we were on his health journey.  Upon his passing art and writing became my therapy, bringing me peace and enriching my faith that everything was going to be o.k.  My spiritual journey continues to unlock unlimited opportunities for new experiences and growth on a daily basis. 

Now, I reflect on how life is ever changing and we have to embrace every opportunity to follow the path that is intended for us.  I am thankful to be a published author with four stories in two Christian based anthologies, with another one due to be published early next year.  My faith directed me to write and publish my first book “The Lumberjack Song, Grace through Hardship” which was released in late August 2025.  In addition, I wrote a journal to help patients and caregivers document their journey with any type of life-changing illness. “Grace Through Hardship, The Companion Journal” released in September 2025.  My artwork is showing great promise locally as I have won two blue ribbons and a Best in Show (gallery exhibited piece) over the last three years. “I wake up each day with grace and hope for the future”.

Linda’s professional career included serving in high-level leadership roles within the Department of Defense, where she retired as a GS-15. She has managed an accounting directorate of more than 130 people and overseen $5+ billion in funding and revenue. As a leader, trainer, facilitator, and subject-matter expert, she has guided major organizational integration efforts and helped teams achieve measurable results.

Her educational and professional credentials include an Executive Master of Public Administration, a Master of Business Administration, and a Certification of Advanced Study in Leadership in International and Non-Government Organizations. She is Lean Six Sigma Certified, a Federal Executive Institute graduate, and holds both DFMCL3 and CDFM-A certifications in defense financial management and acquisition.

Linda is also a celebrated award-winning artist, known for her original and digital pieces. Her artwork reflects her deep belief in creativity as a path to healing and personal transformation. Many of her workshops blend art and ideation, giving participants hands-on experiences that spark new thinking and renewed confidence.
